The Bourne Ultimatum

In The Bourne Ultimatum, the third installment of  Paul Greengrass' Jason Bourne spy thrilla-killa flicks, our favorite amnesiac bone-breaker is back...again...for a third time..although I'm not really sure why. In this round Jason travels the world seeking the truth about his early days as a C.I.A. assassin and hopes to heal his ass-kicking, eye gouging, arm breaking inner child. You know, for a guy who is wanted by Interpol and every federal branch of our country's law enforcement he sure gets around. He easily travels from exotic locale to exotic locale (Morrocco, Spain, Germany), how does he do this you ask?..wait for it...different passports! Zing!, now that's some damn good spying!  He also seems to have plenty of money stashed here and there, so between the stack of passports to fabulous ports of call and a huge knot of bills why is this guy so angry? Why not just disappear? Why not park it at an European clothing optional beach somewhere? Actually, disappearing is the one thing he seems to not be any good at...hand to hand combat-check, weapons proficiency-check, aggressive driving techniques-check, leaving shit be....nope!. In this sequel he steals like 53 cars(only to wreck them...whatta jerk), breaks into a buttload of secure government installations (maiming and ending the careers of many anonymous security personel..what an ass!), and hurts or kills approximately 893 people (however, some of these people were British and deserved it). The action is top-notch, the directing is superior, It's just that so was the last one, it's pretty much the same movie with even less plot. It is as if Greengrass called a "do-over" and declared in his best Tim Tailor voice "more power" and there you go.

This movie receives three "Elbows to the grill" out of a possible five.
