Madonna’s new “Documentary”
Alright, Madonna is officially on the “ITD Bullshit List”. Lately while she is taking a break from being a total skank she’s been attempting to spoon feed the masses her own brand of bullshit upto and including her belief in Kabbalah, yeah I said it. The problem is she isn’t really good at spreading propaganda and here’s why, Google.com.
She showed her ignorance of foreign policy after the promotional screening of her new documentary “I Am Because We Are” which is packaged as a look at the situation in Malawi but is in reality a thinly veiled propaganda piece for her religion of choice, Kabbalah. After the screening one audience member asked what our government was or can be doing regarding the situation in Malawi, Madonna fired back with “I don’t know what our government does except put us into debt and blow up other countries,” (which was met with giddy applause). Ummm… well, let’s see, I googled “Malawi US Aid” and this is what I found in just the first couple links:
The United States Government gives $35 million dollars annually to Malawi in development assistance. The United States Government also works with the GOM and many nongovernmental organizations to help fight the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Malawi which has one of the highest infection rates in Africa. So far USAID financed HIV/AIDS educational programs have reached over 80,000 youth in 370 schools throughout Malawi. USAID has also mobilized its health program to address the malaria problem in Malwai which kills one in five kids under the age of 5. They do this by distributing insecticide coated bed nets. The percentage of households using these bed nets has increased from 13 percent in 2000 to 43 percent in 2004. USAID has also brought more than 30 Malawians to the United States, paid for them to get degrees in American Universities and then shipped them back to Malawi to take up positions in teacher training colleges to help improve Malawi’s educational system.
Compare the above to what Madonna has done for the country of Malawi so far, rescued one orphan by adopting him and bringing him into her home, and attempting to spreading a cult (a.k.a. Kabbalahism, which is really more a pyramid scheme then a religion). Though I have never actually lived with Madonna I can only assume what goes on in her house based on all the sexually explicit pictures I have seen her use to shamelessly promote herself. Now I am not saying that she is doing anything physically illegal or wrong to that child, what I am saying is I can only assume that some freaky shit is going on where she lives. This brings us back to what Madonna is actually DOING for Malawi, which is a bunch of nothing except tooting her own horn and trying to make the rest of us feel bad about ourselves, which I don't.
